Steven Unruh is having a hard time convincing anyone that he spent hours talking to Aurora theater shootings suspect James Holmes shortly after his arrest last July. Jail officials say there’s no way that Unruh could have had that kind of access. Yet certain elements of the story — which includes a description that resembles the headbanging routine that sent Holmes to the hospital last week — have been attracting attention from law enforcement and even families of the shooting victims.

What Unruh can prove is that he was booked into the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on drug and theft charges at 6:44 p.m. on July 19 — just hours before the attack in Aurora at a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises that left twelve dead and dozens wounded. Unruh says he was still in the booking area when officers brought in Holmes, whose head was initially covered with a hood. Although Holmes was put into a cell by himself, Unruh says inmates in the area are able to communicate by shouting through a small gap in the cell doors, which move back and forth on rails.

Unruh says he began talking to Holmes, explaining how poorly child killers are received in prison. Jail staff quickly covered the window in Holmes’ cell door with a tarp, but Unruh says he heard him pounding on the wall with his fists — and then running, slamming his body and his head into the wall. (Unruh described this action in an interview that took place several days before Holmes reportedly engaged in similar headbanging last week.)

But Unruh insists the sporadic conversation continued even after Holmes was moved to another cell in the area. He says that Holmes told him “he felt like he was in a video game” during the shooting, that “he wasn’t on his meds” and “nobody would help him.” He says Holmes also mentioned NLP — presumably, neuro-linguistic programming, a much-scorned and outmoded approach to psychotherapy — and claimed to have been “programmed” to kill (Delta programming) by an evil therapist.

“When he got out to his car, he wasn’t programmed no more,” Unruh says. “It sounded kind of crazy. He was trying to run it by me, basically.”

Unruh has a phone number that he says Holmes asked him to call. (The number connects to the cell phone of a bereavement counselor, who says she has no acquaintance with Holmes or Unruh.) He has a form that indicates James Holmes tried to send him a letter, but it was rejected by jail authorities. (Knight says he has no record of any letter sent by Holmes to Unruh, intercepted or otherwise.) He claims to have received messages from Holmes via other inmates since that night, but he admits he doesn’t know if the sender was actually Holmes.

Still, Unruh’s story seems to have drawn interest in one unlikely quarter. He says Holmes told him he “walked up and down the aisles” of the theater three times before he opened fire, and that detail, if true, might have some bearing on the pending litigation by victims’ families against the theater chain. Unruh has paperwork indicating that he’s been in communication with at least one family member on that point.

Unruh’s story may well prove to be nonsense. Whether it’s his nonsense or Holmes’s own, the lack of answers in the Aurora tragedy has some people looking for whatever answers can be found.

The actress has had a series of incidents happen and can provide more insight into her erratic behavior that will leave you shocked.

Source tell us that while Amanda was locked in the dressing room at Kin, a boutique in West Hollywood, people heard nervous laughter coming from her and when she came out after more than an hour, she acted as though nothing was wrong.

“When she started paying for her items, the store was okay with what had happened and they took her request to call her a cab,” asource says. “But was a roller coaster of actions that made people working there confused. They felt as if they were dealing with multiple people throughout the ordeal.”

One person said “I don’t want people to think she’s just your typical Hollywood trainwreck but that there is a person who is actually very mentally ill and has lost touch with reality.”

Amanda Bynes has much bigger problems than smoking pot and driving illegally … there’s evidence she has serious mental issues.

TMZ has spoken with a number of people who have had repeated contact with Bynes over the last few months, and the stories are consistent and disturbing.
Several members of the “Equinox” gym in West Hollywood say Bynes showed up Thursday with a dazed look on her face and proceeded to talk to herself. She was acting like she had a split personality, making comments to herself and then answering back.

Another person says when Amanda was on the elliptical, she would stop suddenly and start “laughing hysterically for no reason.”  She did this periodically throughout her workout.  This person says he’s seen her dozens of times in the last few months, and says it’s apparent her condition is “deteriorating.”

Several of Amanda’s neighbors echo the concern over Amanda’s condition.  One tells us he observed her on several occasions having long conversations with inanimate objects. 

“The middle girl was dropping crayons into a Styrofoam cup and saying “get into the fire.” Then she would say “I’m purple.” “I’m pink.” “I understand you’re purple.” “I understand you’re pink.” “Get out of here for a minute.” What she was doing was giving the crayons personalities. Another person says people in her condo complex are aware of her condition and her conduct but haven’t called her friends or relatives or authorities because they just don’t want to get involved, given her profile.

Some of the people in the building have been upset over the last few weeks, because they believe the media is painting Amanda as a garden variety pothead and they say her problems are much deeper.

“She needs help.” “Her father doesn’t want to talk about her and often changes the subject,” Ronald said, when asked about how his brother, Rick Bynes, is coping with the drama. Today, Amanda’s behavior is not befitting of the niece Ronald once knew, he said. “Before this, this wasn’t her personality,” he added. 

The troubled 26-year-old allegedly walked into the main reception of the Beach Bum Tanning salon in New York City completely naked, according to InTouch magazine.

Shocking fellow customers in the process, Amanda was in her Mystic spray-tanning booth before she emerged in front of patrons nude while looking for a pair of goggles.

‘She walked out of the room completely naked,’ an insider told the magazine. ‘She didn’t seem to care that everyone saw her naked.’

The source added that the actress appeared completely out of it, and displayed a worrying demeanour.

‘She seemed totally out of it,’ they said. ‘She took her time walking back to the Mystic room, dragging her fingers along the wall and smiling at customers who passed her.

A source claims she spent 25 minutes in the restroom. She then went to a clothing boutique where she tried on sunglasses for 30 minutes. First came her outing at the swanked-out Rosewood, where she desperately sought out someone to pay attention to her in a very “empty-eyed” kind of way. Amanda reportedly had “lipstick all over her face” while smoking a cigarette.

During this bizarre Hollywood outing, as the pap snaps away, Amanda bum-rushes the guy, starts grabbing his camera and apparently pinches the dudes neck as we hear the paparazzo yelling, “You dug your nails into my neck, lady!” Amanda finally walks away and the paparazzo continues to yell at her for reportedly grabbing and pinching him.

“Amanda is out of control,” one insider added. “It’s been slowly going on for years, but now it’s getting really bad.”

News exclusively. “She had this shoulder-length mousy wig (alter) and then all the hair was hanging out underneath. It was bizarre. She looked like a homeless person.”

But we’ve just heard that the real reason to continue on with her conservatorship is a “serious medical issue” that hinders her ability to consistently make sound decisions.

According to documents filed on Tuesday, there are certain “highly sensitive” records that could cause “irreparable harm and immediate danger” to Brit-Brit if certain details were to ever be leaked.

While multiple sources are confirming these records to be of a medical nature (pertaining to a disorder that can “affect” her personality/MPD), don’t expect any of the details to find their way outside the protection of the law anytime soon.

The judge in her conservatorship case has “urgently” been asked to seal the documents because of said sensitivity.

James Holmes, the alleged “Joker” gunman, described his fascination with altered states of mind in a lecture to other students, and dosed up on prescription medication before the atrocity, it emerged on Sunday.

The video footage of Holmes was taken at Miramar College in San Diego and showed him explaining that “temporal illusions” are “an illusion that allows you to change the past”. Holmes said he had been working on “subjective experience, which is what takes place inside the mind as oppose to the external world”.

Brad Garrett, a former FBI profiler, said: “I see someone who appears to be very high functioning. He has some significant mental health issue I believe.”

Six years after the video, Holmes was almost unrecognisable after dying his hair orange. His profile posted on the dating website Match.com was headlined “Will you visit me in prison?”

“The first thing people usually notice about me is my soul penetrating eyes,” he wrote. “Learning is really great, knowledge is power as the famous Sir Bacon [sic] said.” Holmes also said he liked techno music, had “middle-of-the-road” political views, was agnostic, and “definitely” wanted children.

A woman who was suggested as a possible date by the website said it was “pretty scary getting matched to a mass murderer”.

Holmes secured his bachelor degree in neuroscience from UC Riverside in San Diego in 2010 and fellow students described him as “weird”. In his apartment in Aurora he had a poster advertising a DVD called Soldiers of Misfortune showing men in masks.

According to his CV he spent the summer of 2008 working as a counsellor at Camp Max Straus, which offers activities such as horse riding for underprivileged children.

Holmes received a grant from the National Institutes of Health for his PhD. He had recently undergone an intense three-part oral exam, before withdrawing from the course.

On June 25 he applied to join a private gun range, the $250 Lead Valley Range, in Byers, Colorado. Monarch Programmed James Holmes told jailhouse workers that he remains stumped about what landed him in a Colorado lockup, a jail staffer told the Daily News.

“He claims he doesn’t know why he’s in jail,” the worker said Thursday. “He asked, ‘Why am I here?’”

Holmes, 24, who is charged with shooting a dozen people to death and wounding 58 more at a screening of the new Batman movie, was also complaining of a stomach ache caused by lousy jail food after his sixth day at the Arapahoe County Detention Center, the worker said.

“He’s claiming his belly hurts him,” the worker said. “He complained once that he didn’t like the food … The guy killed 12 people, and he’s upset that he’s not getting a four-star meal?”

The former California honor student picks at his meals on some days, and doesn’t eat at all on others. A typical breakfast would include sausage and grits, while lunch could mean a ham sandwich.

Holmes was arrested in the parking lot of the Century 16 multiplex in Aurora, Colo., within minutes of his bloody rampage early Friday through a showing of “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Holmes surrendered without incident to police.

The suspect remains under 23-hour lockdown, leaving his cell just once a day. Authorities fear that other inmates could target Holmes and have him wear a bulletproof vest during his daily walk.

The jail worker said most folks inside the county lockup consider Holmes’ memory loss a ruse.

“He needs to save his act for the jury because no one here is buying it,” the worker said. “Everyone is convinced he is faking it.”

Published reports indicated that Holmes mailed a notebook filled with gruesome sketches and details of his plans for the attack in the crowded theater.

The notebook was in a package sent to a professor at the University of Colorado, where Holmes was a Ph.D. candidate until dropping out of school just prior to the killings.

The FBI snapped up the evidence after school officials notified them that the package was at the university.

In a statement, the university denied a report that the package sat in its mailroom for a week before the shooting spree.

The package was delivered by the U.S. Postal Service on the Monday after the shootings, and forced the evacuation of a campus building for 2 1/2 hours, the statement said.

The notebook and the rest of the contents were turned over to investigators within hours of the package’s discovery, the university said.
